GRINDROD Water Utility – Update & Reminder: As of May 21 customers are restricted to use water for essential purposes only; attempted repairs to the blocked water intake from the Shuswap River, were unsuccessful. Supply is currently being drawn from the Reservoir and replenished by a contracted Water Hauler. The water Utility remains on a precautionary BWN until further notice.

BANCROFT – FLASH FLOOD May 15 For a couple of hours Wednesday night roads turned to rivers in Bancroft as downtown streets, businesses and homes were suddenly flooded resulting from a break in the Beaver Dam.
DRYDEN-FORT FRANCES-ATIKOKAN DISTRICT - FLOOD WATCH issued May 21 due to a low pressure system bringing widespread rainfall that is forecasted to continue into the weekend. Rainfall associated with the system has the potential to increase flow in watercourses that are already high. This Advisory affects residents in Dryden, Wabigoon, Fort Frances, Mine Center, Emo, Rainy River, Atikokan, Sapawe and surrounding areas throughout the District and will remain in effect until Monday May 27, 5pm.
KENORA DISTRICT - FLOOD WATCH issued May 21 due to a series of low pressure systems. Most areas in the Northwestern Region are expected to receive as much as 80 mm of rain. Water levels in some areas are already high and are expected to rise throughout the coming week. This Advisory affects residents in Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Nestor Falls and surrounding areas throughout the District and will remain in effect until Tuesday May 28, 4pm.
THUNDER BAY-IGNACE DISTRICT - FLOOD WATCH issued May 21. The low pressure system could bring potential rainfall amount of 50 – 80mm. Some areas may also receive significant thunderstorms bringing additional rainfall amounts. High-intensity and/or significant amount of rainfall can lead to increase runoff, streamflow and flooding of low-lying areas. This Advisory affects residents in Ignace, Upsala, Raith, Kashabowie, Shebandowan, Armstrong and surrounding areas throughout the District and will expire on Thursday May 23, at noon unless otherwise updated.

May 21 EVACUATION ALERT UPDATE: The alert for Zones 2 and 3 has been LIFTED but remains in place for Zone 1 due to the risk of flooding along the North Road and the Ski Lodge Road.
May 21 FLOOD WATCH UPDATE: The spring freshet continues to cause minor to moderate flooding as it flows down the Porcupine River however the Water levels at Old Crow have continued to drop from Sunday evening’s peak. Workers continue to remediate the Dump Road, water needs to drain from around the sewage lagoon.
