FORT PROVIDENCE – The community is trucking in water from Hay River after some residents reported a diesel smell in their water on Friday (Nov 22). Immediately following the complaints, the water trucks were shut down and cleaned, the water treatment plant was drained and water samples sent for testing.
Earlier in the week, the community relied on water trucks when the river's level fell too low for their Treatment Plant to operate; the intake started to freeze up and water was not getting into the plant.
