SAINT-TITE-DES-CAPS, QC: DO NOT CONSUME ADVISORY IN SCHOOL RESIDENCE PERSISTS FOR THREE MONTHS, QC
This story is brought to you in part by Sourceia - Eco-houses
By Cori Marshall
In November Water Today reported on a Do Not Consume advisory that was issued for a student residence at Collège Hauts Sommets (CHS) in Saint-Tite-des-Caps. We were informed, at the time, that it was issued because of a "contamination" due to "heavy rains". There was no presence of coliforms and the advisory was precautionary.
The incident was localized to the boys residence at CHS. Students were receiving bottled water and there was also a vending machine that distributed bottles as well. At the time it was estimated that the issue would be addressed, and the advisory would be rescinded within a few days.
That was three months ago.
We followed up on the story to see why the advisory has persisted so long. We contacted CHS, and they have yet to respond to our request for comment.
