There were 18 new advisories issued since Friday: 3 in BC, 1 in AB, 4 in QC, 5 in SK, 1 in NL, 3 in MB, 1 in NS.
British Columbia Advisory Map
In British Columbia, a precautionary WQA was issued to Kitimat CWS due to the possibility of turbidity following heavy rains; the advisory was jointly issued by District of Kitimat and Northern Health. Northern Health issued a Do Not Use Advisory to Ness Lake Community Hall due to levels of arsenic in the well water exceeding the MAC (maximum allowable concentration) as indicated in Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality. Fraser Health issued a BWA to Sand Piper WS due to significant deterioration in the microbiological quality or turbidity of the source water.
Manitoba Advisory Map
In Manitoba, a DWAA (Drinking Water Avoidance Advisory) was issued in Elgin, reason not stated; the advisory is categorized as short term. BWAs were issued to Sophies Restaurant and Deli, and to
Lakeview Hecla Resort-food handling service; both are categorized as short term.
Newfoundland and Labrador Advisory Map
In Newfoundland and Labrador, in Bay St George, 14 separate BWAs were issued to different water sources; only 2 of the 14 included the advisory cause as no free chlorine residual having been
detected; it is likely that the other 12 were issued for the same reason. Previously issued BWAs were rescinded in Fairbanks and Indian Bay.
Saskatchewan Advisory Map
In Saskatchewan, PDWAs were issued to a portion of Whitewood due to a water break, portion of Rouleau due to line break or pressure loss, in effect Nov 1, Glen Ewen due to water break/hauling,
Craven due to hydrant replacement, in effect Nov 1, and a portion of Duck Lake due to distribution system or treatment equipment failure or damage; a similar PDWA issued in Duck Lake the previous day
remains in effect.
Québec Advisory Map
In Québec, a BWA was issued to a portion of one street in Laval, reason not stated. Two localized, preventive BWAs were issued in Lévis, one due to an aqueduct break and the other due
to area construction work. A preventive BWA was issued to a portion of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures due to connection of a new water main. Previously issued BWAs were lifted in Kirkland, Oka,
Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot, Papineauville, Saint-Lambert, Sainte-Julie.
Alberta Advisory Map
In Alberta, a BWA is in effect in Sexsmith, reason not stated. A previously issued BWA was rescinded in Smoky River.
Nova Scotia Advisory Map
In Nova Scotia, a BWA was issued to Mishoos Variety (HRM County), reason not stated.
