There were 25 new advisories issued since yesterday: 10 in BC, 2 in SK, 10 in QC, 1 in NU, 1 in MB, 1 in AB.
British Columbia Advisory Map
In British Columbia, catastrophic flooding has occurred causing thousands of evacuations. Water quality has been severely impacted in several areas and advisories have been issued.
The community of Merritt has been devastated and most if not all citizens have been evacuated. A Do Not Consume Advisory is in effect as drinking water has been contaminated. The Town
of Princeton has also been severely affected, with BWNs having been issued by both the Town and Interior Health.
Some of the following advisories may be connected with the severe rain events of the past several days: A BWN was issued to a portion of the Lister Water System due to waterline repair,
and a WQA was issued to the Riondel Water System due to limited treatment facility access; both these advisories were issued by Regional District Central Kootenay. Interior Health issued a
WQA to Millers Sunshine Valley Estates (which is in Merritt) due to unacceptable water quality results. A BWN was issued to Ridgewood ID Water System due to excessive turbidity. IH issued
a WQA to Tunkwa Lake Resort due to chemical and physical water quality parameters in excess of acceptable concentrations. A BWN was also issued to Monte Lake Store due to unacceptable water
quality results. Capital Regional District (CRD) issued a BWN to Port Renfrew as water quality may have been compromised due to flooding of the water system headworks stemming from intense rain.
CRD also issued an alert stating high intensity rain events have caused combined stormwater and wastewater overflows along some shorelines in Greater Victoria; residents are being advised to
avoid shoreline areas which may be contaminated.
Québec Advisory Map
Québec, a preventive BWA was issued to one street in Chicoutimi due to excavation in the area. A BWA was issued to Saint-Mathieu-de-Beloeil due to technical problems
at the filtration plant. In L'Islet a BWA was issued to several addresses due to water interruption. In Saint-Basile a BWA was issued due to several addresses due to work on the
aqueduct system. One street in Saint-Lazare is under a BWA due to emergency repairs. A preventive BWA was issued to a number of addresses in Mirabel due to connection work. A BWA was
issued to a portion of one street in Laval, reason not stated. In Lévis, two BWAs were issued, one due to an aqueduct break and the other due to major works in the area. Several
addresses are under a preventive BWA in Saint-Lambert due to an aqueduct break.
Nunavut Advisory Map
In Nunavut, a BWA was issued to the Hamlet of Pond Inlet due to scheduled maintenance on the water treatment plant.
Manitoba Advisory Map
In Manitoba, a BWA was issued to Cormorant North Public Water System, reason not stated; the advisory is categorized as short term.
Saskatchewan Advisory Map
In Saskatchewan, PDWAs were issued to the Village of Simpson due to a water break, and to Wakaw due to planned maintenance.
Alberta Advisory Map
In Alberta, Alberta Health Services issued a BWA to Fallentimber Meadery (Mountain View) due to the detection of Total Coliforms, confirmed on repeat sampling.
