There were 11 new advisories issued since Yesterday: 6 in QC, 3 in BC, 1 in MB, 1 in NL.
British Columbia Advisory Map
In British Columbia, updates related to the recent rain events: Regional District North Okanagan lifted the BWN for Grindrod Water Utility. The City of Abbotsford has upgraded the advisory
for Sumas Prairie from a BWN to a Do Not Use. Sunshine Coast Regional District has rescinded the BWNs for Elphinstone and Gibsons. Residents are beginning to return to their homes in Merritt
and a BWN is now in effect.
As if the rain event of Nov 14-15 was not enough to contend with, rainfall warnings are once again in effect. According to Environment Canada the regions under warning are the Central Coast,
Fraser Valley, Howe Sound, Metro Vancouver as well as both North and West Vancouver Island, plus a section of the north BC coast.
The Regional District of Central Kootenay issued a WQA to the South Slocan Water System due to turbidity from recent heavy rain. RDCK also lifted a BWN for the Riondel Water System. Columbia-Sushwap
Regional District issued a BWN to the Sorrento Water System due to elevated bacteria levels in the most recent samples.
There are currently 10 active First Nation short term advisories in BC of which three are DNC, six are BWN, and one WQA.
Ontario Advisory Map
In Ontario, a BWA was been in effect since June at Mew Lake in Algonquin Park. The situation has now been partially resolved as water plant upgrades have been completed. That said,
there remains a BWA in effect for parts of the campground. Tap water must still be boiled before usage in order to be considered safe. According to Park staff, the comfort station laundry room is the
sole water source not needing to be boiled.
Québec Advisory Map
In Québec, a preventive BWA was issued to several addresses in Saint-Lambert due to water interruption. A preventive BWA was issued to a number of addresses in Saint-Eustache,
reason not stated. A BWA was issued to several streets in Laval, reason not stated. Two localized BWAs were issued in Lévis both due to aqueduct breaks. A BWA was issued to Cloridorme
Municipal Water System, reason not stated.
Newfoundland and Labrador Advisory Map
In Newfoundland and Labrador, a BWA was issued to Peterview-Northern Arm Lake due to the absence of free chlorine residual detected in the water distribution system.
Manitoba Advisory Map
In Manitoba, a BWA was issued to Pipestone Community Rink SPWS, reason not stated; the advisory is categorized as short term.
