There were 16 new advisories issued since yesterday : 7 in SK, 4 in QC, 1 in NL, 2 in MB, 1 in BC, 1 in NS.
Saskatchewan Advisory Map
In Saskatchewan, PDWAs were issued to a portion of Dysart due to a water main break, portion of St Benedict due to treatment or distribution equipment failure or damage, portion of Canora
due to water line repairs, portion of Carrot River due to water break, Hamlet of Livelong due to water break. First Nation BWAs were issued to Peter Ballantyne Cree-Sturgeon Landing PWS, and to The Key PWS.
Manitoba Advisory Map
In Manitoba, a BWA was issued to Paint Lake Provincial Park Public Water System; this is the first of the seasonal start-up BWAs issued to parks and resorts. A BWA was issued to Roelands - small
residential system; the advisory cause was not stated, but the advisory is categorized as Medium term. Medium term generally applies to systems for which steps are being taken to address the problem
within 2-3 years; the majority pertain to treatment problems requiring installation of basic treatment equipment.
British Columbia Advisory Map
In British Columbia, the City of West Kelowna issued a WQA to the entire Lakeview-Rose Valley water service. A BWN was issued last week due to turbidity only for the Lakeview Heights neighourhood.
That BWN was rescinded but the newly issued WQA applies to a wider region, the entire Lakeview-Rose Valley water service, due to increased turbidity in the Rose Valley Reservoir from an early season
algae bloom. According to the West Kelowna officials: "Turbidity affects the performance of the chlorine disinfection process because bacteria, protozoa, viruses and other microorganisms can attach
themselves to suspended particles in the turbid water and these particles can interfere with disinfection by shielding the microorganisms from the chlorine."
Québec Advisory Map
In Québec, a preventative BWA was issued for the entre Chelsea water sytem due to a a breakage at the drinking water station. A BWA was issued in the Montréal borough of Plateau-Mont-Royal. A partial BWA was issued in Bécancour due to an aqueduct break. A BWA was issued to one street in
Val-Morin following water interruption for works. A BWA was issued to one street in Lévis due to an aqueduct break.
Newfoundland and Labrador Advisory Map
In Newfoundland and Labrador, a BWA was issued to Brighton-Hynes Cove Pond due to maintenance or repairs.
Northwest Territories Advisory Map
In Northwest Territories, according to news reports, the Hamlet of Sachs Harbour has received permission to resume distributing drinking water with its main truck following the issuance of a DNC last
week due to residents complaining that water delivered had a fuel odour and "visible sheen". Water samples were subsequently tested and were found to contain no fuel. The delivery truck has
since been disinfected and is ready to resume deliveries. Affected residents are still being advised not to drink their water until their tanks are cleaned and refilled with newly delivered water.
Nova Scotia Advisory Map
In Nova Scotia, a BWA was issued to Dufferin Variety and Pizza (HRM), reason not stated.
Ontario Advisory Map
In Ontario, a previously issued First Nation BWA was lifted for Fort Albany PWS.
