There were 18 new advisories issued since yesterday: 6 in SK, 8 in QC, 3 in ON, 1 in BC.

Ontario Advisory Map

In Ontario, a blue-green algae advisory was reported by Northwestern Health for Lulu Lake (near Kenora). The algae bloom is currently being tested by MECP (Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks). Eastern Ontario Health issued a BWA to House of Lazarus while HKPR District Health issued a Boil Order to Wilberforce Drinking Water Supply; advisory causes were not stated.

First Nation Long Term BWAs have been lifted for Shoal Lake No. 40 and Washagamis Bay. In the case of Shoal Lake, 6 of 7 BWAs have been lifted while the 7th is scheduled to be rescinded in late Fall. According to Indigenous Services Canada (ISC): "the advisories, in place since February 1997, were lifted after a new water treatment plant was built and extensive upgrades to the existing water distribution system were completed to support the community current and long-term drinking water needs." Washagamis had 2 BWAs lifted. In place since December 2008, they were lifted after a new water treatment plant was built and upgrades to the existing water distribution system were completed. A previously issued short term BWA to Mishkeegogamang Ace Lake has now been cateogrized as Long Term. According to ISC: "The advisory was issued as a preventative measure to safeguard public health and safety due to existing equipment inadequately disinfecting the treated water. Upgrades to the system are underway and anticipated to be complete this fall."


Québec Advisory Map

In Québec, in Farnham a preventive BWA was issued to one street due to water interruption. A preventive BWA was issued to a portion of one street in Saint-Eustache, reason not stated. In Dolbeau-Mistassini, a preventive BWA was issued to several streets due to valve installation for connection to the aqueduct. Two preventive BWAs were issued in the Montréal area, to the boroughs of Plateau-Mont-Royal and Île-Bizard-Sainte-Geneviève, respectively. Two limited BWAs were issued in Laval, reasons not stated. In Sainte-Catherine, one previously issued BWA was lifted while another was issued.


Manitoba Advisory Map

In Manitoba, a previously issued First Nation Short Term BWA to Mathias Colomb Townsite has now been categorized as Long Term; according to ISC: "Work is underway to replace the sewage lift station, but extreme cold weather this past winter, the COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain issues, and site conditions have all delayed completion."


Saskatchewan Advisory Map

In Saskatchewan, PDWAs were issued to a portion of the Town of Broadview due to a water break, Town of Hafford due to low chlorine residuals, portion of Langenburg due to hydrant repair, Town of Maple Creek due to treated water contamination, portion of Spiritwood due to planned maintenance. Advance notice of a PDWA was issued in Morse due to reservoir cleaning; the advisory will be in effect Oct 7th.


British Columbia Advisory Map

In British Columbia, a WQA was issued by Okanagan Falls Irrigation District due to the onset of the annual flushing program which will occur from Oct 4 - 22.
