The Department of Health reminds residents of Sanikiluaq that water for consumption must come from the reverse osmosis units that have been installed in each household.
23/JUN/2016 High levels of sodium were detected in the communitys drinking water, prompting the Department of Health to issue a warning for residents not to drink the tap water. 233 reverse osmosis filters procured and installed in homes as a temporary solution to the problem.
The Hamlets drinking water source is described as yellow-ish and salty.
