Details:
20/DEC/2023 - ROSSLYN VILLAGE WATER SYSTEM
DNC remains in effect
The Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge has put aside $300,000 in its proposed 2024 budget for a tested, chlorinated filtration system expected to remove arsenic from the drinking water supply. The Mayor expects the budget to be put to a vote early next month, emphasizing the $300,000 figure is just an estimate.
In August, Ontarios Walkerton Clean Water Centre (WCWC) determined through a pilot project that the arsenic levels were reduced to acceptable levels using a chlorination filtration system. A second testing event conducted by WCWC in October confirmed the results of the initial testing. The filtration system, which is subject to approval by the provinces environment ministry, would be housed inside a sea can container added to Rosslyns existing water treatment facility and hopefully in place by Spring.
09/MAR/2023 - ROSSLYN VILLAGE WATER SYSTEM
