CHIPPEWAS of The Thames First Nation – DNC in effect July 21 due to an issue with the Water System. The problem stems from a sudden and unusually high demand on the Communitys Water Reserves. The high demand overwhelmed the existing Filtration System resulting in the Supply being deem unsafe for consumption. The System’s filters, which typically last a month are currently being replacement every three days. Their drinking water source is considered to be Groundwater Under Direct Influence of Surface Water (GUDI). This advisory affects approx. 1,000 residents.
