1/29 The executive director of Kashechewan First Nation says 63 people from his community in northern Ontario have tested positive for cryptosporidium, a parasite that causes gastrointestinal illness.


1/6 Kashechewan First Nation, along northern Ontario James Bay coast, plans to evacuate residents in the coming days because its water treatment system is in disrepair.
A state of local emergency was declared, the Cree First Nation has about 2,300 residents.
