The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) has issued a Boil Water Notice and Water Quality Advisory in the RUSSETT BLUFF area.

The CRD says the Notice has been issued as the system is transitioned to the Lower Well, as the Upper Well aquifer can no longer meet the seasonal demand.
THE WQA was issued because of high concentrations of manganese in the Lower Well that exceed the maximum allowed by Health Canada. Since boiling water will increase the manganese concentration. infants and young children absorb more manganese and cannot regulate and eliminate it as readily as adult
