[Return to Saskatchewan | Return to province list]

PRINCE ALBERT NATIONAL PARK

Type: Boil Water  -  Active

Issued: 5/8/2026

Details:

MAY 8, 2026 - BWA in effect due to seasonal start-up in Waskesiu, including all seasonal residential properties and campgrounds. -- MAY 21, 2026 - BWA REMAINS IN EFFECT. Distribution System Update May 19: • Water service in Bird streets area has been turned on. A precautionary BWA remains in effect while water testing is completed. • Water service for Fern and Lily Streets has been cut due to a broken service line repair. A precautionary BWA will come into effect once the water is restored. • All other areas that have running water (Subdivisions 1 & 2, Prospect Point, Beaver Glen campground) are now safe to consume. The BWA for these areas has been lifted. The Parks Canada bulletin also included the following message to the Systems water users: With the water lines turned off over the winter, there is potential for contaminants to accumulate; When the water is turned back on in the spring, the lines are flushed and disinfected to ensure potability of the water supply. The water quality test results can take several days after the water is turned on. When water lines are depressurized, sedimentation may occur within the lines. Following the restoration of water service, residents should run taps for at least 5 minutes to clear any discoloration, particles or excess chlorine from their water lines. Waterlines should be flushed again by residents for 5 minutes after the BWA has been lifted in their area. --
