8/4 Mayor Mat Siscoe issued a state of emergency declaration on Monday after a pair of storms brought more than 140 millimetres of rain early last week and then again on Sunday.
7/28 Overnight torrential rain has caused basement flooding and power outages in the St. Catharines and Niagara area.

Environment Canada reports that anywhere from 20-35 mm of rain fell in the Niagara region over a six-hour period, with heavier rain localized around Lincoln.
