The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks has confirmed the presence of blue-green algae (BGA) in a water sample collected within a bay along the southern shoreline of Hawkeye Lake on July 29, 2026. Hawkeye Lake is located approximately 30 kilometers northwest of Thunder Bay.
