Overview: As of April 9, 2026, there are 40 long-term water advisories in Canada – not including BC; this number has decreased from 41 in our last report: 0 in Atlantic, 0 in QC, 29 in Ontario, 6 in MB, 5 in SK, 0 in AB.
This number has decreased from a high of 151 in 2015

Recently added long-term advisories
Mishkeegogamang First Nation as of March 27, 2026 in Ontario. The advisory affects 7 homes. The community is planning upcoming repairs to their water treatment plant to support lifting the advisory.
Pauingassi First Nation as of March 21, 2026The advisory affects 130 homes and 4 community buildings. The community is working on repairs to their water treatment plant to support lifting the advisory.
Recently LIFTED long-term advisories
Deer Lake First Nation in Ontario lifted the drinking water advisory on their public water system on April 9, 2026, after completing repairs to the system and improving operations and water quality monitoring.
