Flash Flooding July 11 affecting the western part of the province. Emergency alerts were issued overnight Thursday in DIGBY, ANNAPOLIS, KINGS and HANTS COUNTIES. Over 100 mm of rain fell in a few hours, as the remnants of Hurricane Beryl moved through the province. Torrential rains caused flash flooding resulting in severe damage and death of a Wolfville youth that was swept into a water-filled ditch at a local park.

ST. CLAIR RIVER (Sarnia Harbour) – SPILL July 11 An oil leak from a service line in the area of Imperial Oil’s north marine cargo dock was reported and cleaned up by 11:15pm Thursday evening. Imperial stated that the spill into the river wasn’t related to the marine vessels currently docked and that they will be conducting downriver water monitoring as a precaution.

MONTRÉAL – Flash Flooding July 10 A swift and relentless downpour from the remnants of hurricane Beryl brought up to 100 millimetres of rain to the Montreal area, caused numerous sewer backups, flooding under overpasses and closing of major highways. A warehouse in the city’s St-Laurent borough, reported employees had to swim out of a flooded building.

MONTRÉAL – July 12 Water Shortage caused by major aqueduct failure. The break happened at the intersection of Maisonneuve and Décarie Blvd affecting the Royal Victoria Hospital, the Cedars Cancer Centre, the Montreal Chest Institute, the Montreal Children’s Hospital and the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC).
