PEMBERTON (Pinecrest Estates WS) WQA issued July 16 due to the source water quality from Retta Lake fall below the minimum UVT threshold required for the UV reactors to operate effectively. In recent testing IRON and MANGANESE tested above aesthetic objectives (AO) in the raw water source. A slight reduction of the iron and manganese was noted in treated water supply, but the levels were still at the (AO). Treated water supply also showed presence of LEAD above the Maximum Acceptable Concentration (MAC). This is the first time lead has measured above the MAC. SODIUM in treated water was once again above the maximum level recommended.

BASS LAKE (Oro-Medonte) BGA July 18 Suspected Blue Green-Algae Bloom reported along Northeast Shoreline. This is the first blue-green algae notice of the year and the third year in a row.
CHIPPEWAS of The Thames First Nation DNC in effect July 21 due to an issue with the Water System. The problem stems from a sudden and unusually high demand on the Community's Water Reserves. The high demand overwhelmed the existing Filtration System resulting in the Supply being deem unsafe for consumption. The Systems filters, which typically last a month are currently being replacement every three days. Their drinking water source is considered to be Groundwater Under Direct Influence of Surface Water (GUDI). This advisory affects approx. 1,000 residents.
