FORT CHIPEWYAN Drinking Water Supply – BWO issued October 30 due to an unplanned shutdown of distribution pumps feeding the distribution line. This may lead to back pressure or siphonage in the water distribution system, thereby contaminating drinking water.

PARKLAND BEACH (Jorgy’s Hot Spot DWS) – BWO issued October 24 due to the detection of total coliforms in recent samples.

BRITISH COLUMBIA

BLACK CREEK (Watutco Enterprises) – BWN issued October 24 due to excessive turbidity compromising treatment and water quality.

BOWEN ISLAND (Mt Gardner Water Users Community) – BWN issued November 1 due to total coliforms detected in recent samples.

ERICKSON Water System – BWN in effect November 5 due to service valve consolidation and meter pit installations, localized.

GRANDVIEW Water System – BWN in effect November 6 due to a pressure reducing valve station upgrade, localized.

MADEIRA PARK (Oyster Bay Retreat) – BWN issued October 30 due to unacceptable water quality results. Since July 23, test results have shown either HIGH COLIFORM COUNTS or counts were indeterminate due to HIGH COLONY DENSITY and/or OVERGROWTH preventing an accurate coliform count.

STILLWATER ID Water System – BWN issued October 26 no reason provided by Vancouver Coastal Health.

UPDATE

BEAVER LAKE SOURCE/aka Swalwell Lake Source – WQA Remains in effect November 3.
The District of Lake Country in conjunction with Interior Health keeps the Beaver Lake Source on a Permanent Water Quality Advisory because this source is subject to fluctuation in turbidity that can exceed guidelines regularly; Suspended particles can interfere with disinfection, limiting chlorine’s ability to remove or inactivate the contaminants and chlorine disinfection is the only method of treatment on this source.
This Source has been under advisory since March 2012.

OYAMA LAKE SOURCE – WQA Remains in effect November 3.

ERICKSON Water System – BWN issued for October 30 has been cancelled. The Advisory was issued as a precautionary measure following a service valve repair however, depressurization of the water main was not required, thus the water quality was not at risk of contamination as a result of the service works.
