HALIBURTON (Pinestone Resort) – This facility was issued a BWO October 16 by the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPR); no reason provided.
October 25 during a System inspection the Public Health Inspector (PHI) found a health risk/danger and CLOSED the establishment until the risk is removed/resolved. The inspection concluded with 7 Non-critical Infractions and 1 Critical Infraction. The following are the non-compliance items listed in the report:
- Owner of the Small Drinking Water System had designated an operator and provided proper notifications to the Medical Officer of Health (M.O.H.).
- Small drinking water system and its equipment is maintained in a safe and sanitary condition:
(Observed the lower UV equipment stainless tube and electrical plug connector rusted.)
- Operator of the system is trained in drinking water system operation and maintenance and all relevant safety and emergency procedures.
- Drinking water system that requires treatment is operational and properly maintained:
(Observed both UV equipment disconnected and not operational.)
- Drinking water samples are taken correctly in accordance with the most recent directive:
(Water sampling results not available in the water record binder.)
- Owner/operator takes appropriate corrective action when required:
(Owner and Operator failed to notify the Medical Officer of Health or Public Health Inspector of the power disruption that took place on October 9, 2024 resulting in a full loss pf pressure of this facility's drinking water system.)
- All reporting requirements were met for every adverse test result and adverse observation:
(Adverse reporting documentation was not present or available in the water record binder.)
- Premises is operated and maintained free from conditions that may be an immediate health hazard.
